What We Classify?
We classify publication content generally contained in publications such as; Films, Video Games, Audio, Literature and Advertising matter that are locally or internationally produced and disbursed, sold or perused for public information.
These Publications are rated according to the type of content and its general impact on any reasonable Papuan New Guinean.

How Classification Rating is decided?
Classification Rating of a Publication is decided through the use of a Standard Classification Guideline. Publication content is scrutinized against the guidelines, relevant to the scope and limits of the content suitable for each classification rating category.
The Censorship Board or the Chief Censor considers whether a publication (book, magazine, film etc.) is an objectionable publication, and decides whether it is suitable or unsuitable for examination or viewing by a minor or a sensible adult person in Papua New Guinea; or any literary, artistic or educational merit the publication may possess and the general character of the publication including whether it is of a medical legal, scientific or military character;
And in deciding what classification, 9if any) should be given to a publication, shall have regard to the people or class of individuals, to or for whom, it is available or is intended to be published; and maintain special conditions or restrictions (if any), subject to which it should be published.
