The Department for Community Development and Religion (DfCDR) organized a Development Partners’ Forum on Thursday, 8th February 2018 at Crown Plaza Hotel in Port Moresby with the theme ‘Strengthening Partnership Towards Community Protection and Empowerment’.
The forum brought together ministry agencies, development partners and other relevant stakeholders to discuss and build partnership in implementing DfCDR’s key priority programmes projected from the 2018 Annual Operational Plan.
Manager for Mass Media and Programmes Mr Robroy Chicki, Principle Research Officer, Ms Hale Lahui and the Principle Policy Advisor, Mr Nickson Kaido represented the Office of Censorship during the forum.
The agencies that were represented during the forum included the United Nations Women (UN Women), United Nations International Children’s Education Fund (UNICEF), Child Fund, Department of Foreign Affairs/Australia, Oil Search Foundation, amongst others who ensured to continue their support to the Department for Community Development & Religion.
The Office of Censorship officers believe that the initiative undertaken by the DfCDR is very important in bringing together development partners and key stakeholders in aligning and implementing their key priority programmes in 2018 and beyond.
The officers further elaborated that the partnership forum is a way of building networks and information sharing amongst government agencies and donor partners in helping to achieve the National Government’s PNG Vision 2050, National Strategy for Responsible Sustainable Development, Alotau Accord 2, and other national initiatives and development strategies that desires the smart, happy, wise and satisfied living based firmly on our Papua New Guinea noble traditions and Christian principles.
