Ministry General Staff Meeting

The Ministry of Religion, Youth & Community Development consists of five existing agencies namely National Youth Development Authority, Office of Censorship, National Volunteer Services, National Office for Children & Family Services and the Department for Community Development.

During the first 2019
general staff meeting with the Minister on Monday 4th February 2019, Hon. Soroi Eoe acknowledged the respective departmental heads and thanked each one for implementing their respective programs in 2018.

Hon Minister challenged all officers present to perform their duties one step ahead.

DPM Trainee students get educated on Censorship issues

After five weeks of on the job training with the Department of Personnel Management (DPM), 20 female students from the Caritas Technical Secondary School including one male student from the University of Papua New Guinea (UPNG) participated in a brief yet educational awareness session with the Office of Censorship on Tuesday 15th January, 2019.

The purpose of the awareness program was to inform and educate the students about the roles and functions of the Office and also to inform them of the existing laws surrounding the Office of Censorship and its partners/stakeholders.

Transfer of Exhibits

The Investigations team from the PNG Customs Office transferred three Sex Enhancement Products (SEPs) confiscated at the Jackson’s International Airport, to the Office of Censorship as the appropriate agency for further action, on Monday 04th January, 2019.

All SEPs detained were removed from international travelers who are either on work permit or temporary visitors.
The exhibits are currently within the jurisdiction of the Office of Censorship to detain and record while awaiting destruction later in the year.
